Meet Blue Pom Pom – The Curious Explorer
Species: Common Blue Tongue Skink
Subspecies: Northern Blue Tongue Skink (Tiliqua scincoides intermedia)
Blue Pom Pom is our adventurous Northern Blue Tongue Skink, hatched in June 2024—and he’s already a pro at charming visitors! With his sleek scales and signature blue tongue, Blue Pom Pom is always eager to head out on daily adventures outside his enclosure. Whether he’s cruising across the floor, investigating new textures, or finding the perfect sunbeam, he’s happiest when he gets to explore something new every single day. Miss a day, though, and this bold little guy gets a bit shy—he’s a creature of curious habit!
Like all Blue Tongue Skinks, Blue Pom Pom is an omnivore, and his meals are a colorful mix of leafy greens, veggies, and delicious bugs. He especially loves mealworms, silkworms, hornworms, and snails (hold the shells, please!). But his ultimate favorite treat? Pomegranate! Those juicy red seeds make his little skink eyes light up.
