Say Hello to Blue Pom Pom!

Blue Pom Pom is a Northern Blue Tongue Skink who hatched in June 2024 – and he’s already a little explorer! He LOVES coming out of his enclosure every day to go on adventures. He might climb over your shoe, peek behind a pillow, or even try to “boop” your hand with his blue tongue! But if we skip a day of play, he can get a little shy – so he needs his daily exploration time to stay brave and happy. Blue Tongue Skinks are lizards from Australia – and yes, they really do have blue tongues! They stick out their tongues to scare away predators. It’s their way of saying, “Back off!”

Blue Pom Pom has a big appetite! He munches on leafy greens, crunchy veggies, and wiggly bugs like mealworms, silkworms, hornworms, and even soft snails (no shells, please!). But his absolute FAVORITE treat is… pomegranates! He gets so excited for those juicy red seeds!

Blue Pom Pom loves meeting new friends, teaching kids about reptiles, and showing off his tongue on camera. He’s a brave little lizard with a big heart – and he’s always ready for his next adventure!
