At Slither ’n’ Such, education is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that learning should be hands-on, curiosity-driven, and inclusive of all learners – no matter where they live or how they learn. By bringing reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates into the classroom in meaningful ways, we aim to spark curiosity, build respect for the natural world, and create learning that sticks.

Partnerships

We are honoured to be collaborating with Connected North, a program that fosters student engagement and educational opportunities in remote Indigenous communities through live, interactive virtual learning. Guided by Connected North’s principles of respect, relationship-building, and cultural relevance, our virtual field trips connect students with our reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates in ways that align with each community’s goals and local contexts. These sessions support curriculum needs, honour Indigenous knowledge, and create safe, respectful spaces for exploration.

Interactive kits directly tied to Alberta and Canadian curriculum outcomes. Each kit makes it easy for educators to integrate reptiles into STEM, literacy, and cross-curricular learning.

Educator Support & Accessibility
Every resource is designed to be adaptable for diverse learners – whether that means printables, visual supports, hands-on activities, or neurodiverse-friendly formats. Educators will also have access to guidance for implementation and classroom tips.

Looking Ahead

We’re just getting started. Our first curriculum kits and downloadable resources are currently in development and more will follow throughout the year. From elementary science outcomes to cross-curricular storytelling, we’re excited to bring reptiles into classrooms in ways that are fresh, fun, and easy to use.
